HPE 2920 Series Switches
As a comprehensive, scalable, and cost-effective solution for building high performance networks, the Hewlett Packard Enterprise 2920 Switch series offers high performance Gigabit Ethernet access switches. Each HPE 2920 switch has four dual-personality ports for 10/100/1000 of SFP connectivity and can support up to four optional 10 Gigabit Ethernet (SFP+ and/or 10GBASE-T) ports, as well as a two-port stacking module providing users with flexible and easy-to-deploy stacking and uplinks. With static and routing-information-protocol (RIP) routing, robust security and management features, HPE 2920 switches can be deployed at the enterprise edge, in converged networks, and in remote or branch offices. The HPE 2920 switches have quality of service (QoS) features including traffic prioritization which allows real-time traffic classification into eight priority levels that are mapped to eight queues, as well as L4 prioritization, class of service (CoS), rate limiting, and large buffers. Connectivity features include Auto-MDIX, which provides automatic adjustments for straight-through or crossover cables on all 10/100, and 10/100/1000 ports, dual-personality functionality, pre-standard PoE support, and IPv6 with IPv6 host, dual stack, and MLD snooping. With an energy-efficient design, HPE 2920 switches reduce power consumption with HP ProVision ASIC architecture that provides low latency, increased packet buffering and adaptive power consumption, and selectable queue configurations that increases performance by selecting the number of queues and associated memory buffering that best meet the requirements of the network applications. Other features of HPE 2920 switches include convergence, resiliency and high availability, management, L2 switching, L3 routing, and security.
